Mrs. Hattie J. Henderson departed this earthly life on July 2. She was born in Newton County on Nov. 9, 1934 to Thomas and Olden Kimball. She was the second of four children, of which, brother Joseph Kimball, preceded her in death. She attended and graduated from Washington Street School where she met the love of her life in Prentist L. Henderson Sr. They were joined in holy matrimony on Feb. 8, 1953, and to this union, 10 children were born and one adopted. Three of her children preceded her in death, one daughter at birth, Susan, and Tony.
Ms. Angela Maria Garner was born in 1960, in Trinidad, West Indies, the daughter of Violet and Samuel Garner. She passed away June 24. Ms. Garner attended Newtown High School, Queens, N.Y., and the City College of New York. As a young woman, she taught religious instruction to the children at the St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church in East Elmhurst, N.Y. She was married to Lloyd (Lamon) Ivey on May 25, 1992, in Las Vegas.
Mr. John B. Little Jr., 77, of Conyers died peacefully June 26, at Emory Gentiva Hospice. He was preceded in death by his mother Sara Bernice Baker Little of Conyers, his father John B. Little Sr., of Cornelia, and his son John Barry Little III of Covington.
Mr. Alfred Chandler Schmalz, 88, passed away June 23 in Conyers. Born in Dedham, Mass., he was preceded in death by his parents Edith Young and Alfred Schmalz, his sister Nancy Schmalz Barlow, and his first wife Jane Isaac Schmalz.
Mrs. Lorene Darby Rollins, 99, of Covington passed away June 10, at Riverside Health Care Center. Mrs. Rollins loved playing cards and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
