Mr. Charles Eugene "Gene" Gadilhe, 88, of Covington passed away March 28. Mr. Gadilhe was born in Ensley, Ala., to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gadilhe.

Mr. Jack Eugene Smith, 58, of Shady Dale, died Monday, March 25, at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Clayton Barnette, 73, of Conyers, passed away March 24, after a brief illness. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, gardening, his cats, dining out and the movies.
Lloyd Milas "Bo" Lyda, 26, of Oxford, passed away March 22. He was a 2005 graduate of Newton County High School and attended Georgia Perimeter College after he graduated. He enjoyed fishing, singing and performing in plays. His favorite music was country. He loved animals, especially cats.
Mrs. Betty McKinley Bagwell, 83, of Social Circle, passed away March 21. She moved to Social Circle in 1965 from Decatur. She worked as a cashier for Food Giant Grocery Store and retired after 19 years of service.
Mr. Joe Hoyt Brewer, age 64, of Mansfield passed away March 22, 2013 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to James Hoyt and Mae Pitts Brewer on September 3, 1948. Mr. Brewer enjoyed working with his hands and could build anything. He loved spending time with his family and working in his garden.
Ms. Linda Hammond, 65, of Covington, passed away Dec. 20. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard and taking care of animals. Ms. Hammond loved the Lord Jesus Christ and because she had a heart of gold, she enjoyed helping those less fortunate, especially during the holiday season. Most important, Ms. Hammond was a devoted mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Von and Nannie Elizabeth (Berrong) Arrowood.
Mrs. Angela E. Ward, 47, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15 after a battle with cancer. She enjoyed scrapbooking, arts and crafts, tutoring and playing paintball with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling, especially cruises. Mrs. Wand was preceded in death by her husband Adam Ward and her parents Robert and Shirley Massey.
Mrs. Carrie Helen Rand of Covington died on Dec. 12, at Rockdale Medical Center. She was born in 1929 in Enfield, N.C., the daughter of Johnny and Elizabeth Battle Richardson. Mrs. Rand was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired employee of Sisters of Charity Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., and was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Buffalo. She loved to travel and watch and old black and white western movies.
Mr. John H. Park Jr., 82, of Covington, passed on to reunite with his parents John and Emma Lou Park and sister Mrs. Edward (Helen) Gattis on Dec. 15. He was born in 1930 in Covington. He retired after 38 years of service as a general superintendent with General Motors Corporation. Mr. Park was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was loved dearly by his family and friends.
Ms. Martha Diane Lackey died Dec. 4. She was known as "Big D" to many of her family and close friends. The daughter of Mr. Howard and Mrs. Maggie Mae Lackey, she was born in 1947. A graduate of R.L. Mr. Thomas Louis Hollingsworth died Dec. 12 surrounded by his family. The oldest of three children and son of Costolow and Myrtie Hollingsworth, he was born in 1933. He joined Richards Chapel United Methodist Church at an early age and served faithfully until his death. He loved being a member of the Richards Chapel Senior Choir and Richards Chapel Male Chorus.
