Mike Morgan

Mike Morgan of Newborn, passed away July 29, 2011, at the age of 48. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends. Linda D. Saxton Smith

Ms. Linda D. Saxton Smith died July 26. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clary (Ruby Stanley) Saxton, she was born in Bamberg, S.C., in 1952. The family moved to Georgia in 1956, and at an early age Ms. Smith joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Covington. She was a dedicated employee of ISS (International Storage Systems) for many years until her health declined. Ms. Smith was a thoughtful, caring and loving person. She was there for everyone in his or her time of need. She loved entertaining, planning family gatherings, fishing, dancing and singing.

He was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving three years and nine months in the Pacific Theater as a Sergeant. Mr. LaJaunie enjoyed fishing, talking, and was a LSU and Saints fan. He owned Lawrence's Barber Shop for 12 years. Mr. LaJaunie was an active member of Harvest Baptist Church, where he served on the fellowship team, security team, and was a volunteer for the Hope for Harvest Food Ministry. Mr. Dewey Cason, of Oxford passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2011. He was born May 31, 1925 in Oxford to the late Charles A. and Sadie Ruth Bostwick Cason. Mr. Cason was a lifelong resident of Oxford and was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church where he served faithful as an elder and member until his death.
