Mr. Ralph Abercrombie Jr. passed away Nov. 8, at Abbey Hospice, in Social Circle, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ruth Abercrombie and his only sister Angie Abercrombie.
Mr. Paul Winston Kitchens, the beloved husband of Kay Kitchens and the son of Paul and Gladys Kitchens, was born on May 19, 1943, in Macon. He passed on Nov. 2, as a steadfast integrity keeper to Jehovah God. Memorial services will be held tomorrow, Nov. 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 13075 Ga. Highway 36, Covington.
Mr. Lewis DeWayne Scott, 49, of Covington, died on Nov. 2. Born in Greenville, S.C., Mr. Scott was a former cabinet maker and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother Virginia Sanders Schellenberg and her husband Walter, of Covington; his father Leonard R. Scott of Greenville; his wife Debbie Scott of Simpsonville; daughter Megan Scott of Simpsonville; granddaughter Alyssa Lucas; sister Cindy Scott Edwards of Deland, Fla.; brother Randy Scott of Piedmont; half-sister Michelle Scott of Lake Hartwell; half-brother Tommy Scott of Anderson; his long-time special friend Johnnie Sanders of Covington; and numerous cousins.
Mrs. Wilma Sorrow, age 90, of Covington passed away October 29, 2012 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. She was born July 8, 1922 in Canton, Georgia to the late William Asbury and Minnie Helton Gibbs. Mrs. Sorrow was a 75 year charter member of the Calvary Temple Holiness Church in Atlanta and in recent years attended The First Baptist Church of Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Watson Sorrow, Jr., her husband of later years Reverend John Sorrow and her grandson Todd Watson Davis.
Mr. Randall Allen, 60, of Oxford passed away Oct. 21. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his father James Melvin Allen. He loved hunting and fishing, all types of sports and was an avid collector of anything. He enjoyed gardening, joking around and was known to be very quick witted. Above all, he loved his family.

Ms. Geneva Rhodes was born in Newborn on Dec. 1, 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Lula Hart) Rhodes. She was the fourth of their six daughters. Four sisters Rosie Rene, Selema, Bertha Lee and Charlene preceded her in death.
Ms. Rhodes was raised and educated in Newton County. At an early age, she joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, becoming an active and devoted member. Mr. Tommy Ellis, age 60, of Oxford passed away October 22, 2012 at his home. He was born November 29, 1951 in Atlanta to the late Harvey and Peggy Matthews Ellis. Mr. Ellis loved woodworking, coin collecting and NASCAR. His was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose favorite thing to do was spend time with his family.
Mrs. Geina A. Stanton, age 89, of Social Circle passed away October 18, 2012. She was born in Cuthbert, GA to the late Hull and Mary Johnson Andrews on July 26, 1926. Mrs. Stanton was a retired school teacher who began her career as a home economics teacher at Social Circle High School. She left her career for a time to raise her sons before returning to the class room teaching until her retirement at Ficquett Elementary School.
