Stephen Joseph Brown, 72, of Logansport, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, in his residence after a battle with cancer.
Marcene Phillips, 69, of Covington, passed away Feb. 24, 2014. Marcene enjoyed crocheting, traveling to the beach and the mountains, and playing golf with her husband, Dwight. She had an adventurous, outgoing and encouraging spirit, and was the glue that held her family together. Marcene cherished the time spent with her family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Papa Mac and Mama Mac.
Gary Carl Martin, 52, of Covington, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. Gary served in the United States Air Force and he was once employed at Walker Harris Chrysler dealership as a service adviser, until he became disabled.
Howard Spearman Haralson, of Covington, passed away Feb. 24, 2014, at the age of 96. Spearman, as he was known to most, was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Covington for 66 years. In the 1950s he owned and operated his own grocery store, Haralson's Grocery, which was located in town between the bus station and Tri City Cleaners. Spearman closed the grocery store in 1972, to join his wife, Grace, in their family business, Haralson Florist. Together they built a business with a reputation for doing more than expected. Catherine "Lois" Allison passed away Feb. 19, 2014, at her home in Covington. She was 67 years of age. Mrs. Allison loved her family, sports, and watching game shows. In addition to enjoying music and dancing, she loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr. Mrs. Allison just enjoyed life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Timothy Allison; parents, John Harrison and Katheryn Aurelia (Arrowsmith) Denton; and sister, Leah Rouse.
George "Sonny" Wilson, 73, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Emory University Hospital. Mr. Wilson was born in Cleveland, Miss., to the late Joseph and Nell Wilson.

Mrs. Sue Brewer, age 62, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013. She was born June 7, 1951 in Kelleytown Community of Henry County to the late Charles Albert and Nellie Sue Wilkerson Ellington. Mrs. Brewer enjoyed fishing, going to flea markets, antique stores and shopping. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband Joe Brewer.

Earl Elsworth Goddard, 91, of Decatur passed away Nov. 19. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country as a paratrooper during World War II. Mr. Goddard was of the Southern Baptist faith and cherished his time reading his Bible. He enjoyed meeting new people and talking about horses. Mr. Goddard was a strong, independent man who loved life and his family, especially his wife Mary and his daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents John Sheldon and Rua Mae (Hull) Goddard, his sister Opal and his wife Mary.
James Daryl Ford, age 59, of Mansfield, passed away after a two-and-one-half year battle with cancer.

Margaret Anderson, 64, of Covington, passed away Nov. 2 at home, following a long battle with cancer. Ms. Anderson owned and operated numerous beauty salons in Covington. She had a passion for helping others and often volunteered to assist anyone in need. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie T. and Ella (McCord) Osborn and her brothers, Roy Osborn, Robert Osborn, Clark Osborn and Junior Osborn.
Catherine Thorp, of Covington, died Nov. 24, at The A.G. Rhodes Home -- Cobb. The daughter of the late Lewis Sullivan and Maude Nutting Leach, she was born in 1919, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Covington and the Covington Woman's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family.
Shane Kenny, 34, of Rockdale County, passed away suddenly November 25, 2013. Shane was a 1997 graduate of Rockdale County High School, and lettered in both baseball and football during his high school career. His love for sports led him to coach youth baseball, in Newton and Rockdale counties, and he has influenced the lives of so many while coaching. He enjoyed watching professional and college sports, but most important to him were his children. He was a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Bill Brantley, age 79, of Covington passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013. He was born February 10, 1934 in Morganfield, Kentucky to the late William Thomas and Margaret Taylor Brantley. Mr. Brantley served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated with a degree as an Industrial Engineer. After graduating he worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service. Raburn Lee Crawford, of Covington passed away Nov. 21, 2013 at the age of 80. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and was a dedicated employee of Bonded Service Warehouse for 47 years. He was thankful for all his blessings, his home and especially his family, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed shopping at yard sales and pawn shops. Mr. Crawford loved gardening, giving vegetables away and riding his grandchildren on his farm equipment.
Joseph Frank Lawson Jr., 82, and his wife, Margaret Elizabeth (Seidel) Lawson, 86, died at their home in Shady Dale, November 19, 2013. They were married 66 years, and together they instilled in their children the values of hard work, honesty and faith in the true God Jehovah. Mrs. Lawson was a devoted wife and mother and an ideal sister to Eugene M. Seidel of Portland, Ore.
Ronald Lee Dimery, of Oxford, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at the age of 78. He met and married the love of his life, Dottie, at Florida State University, and they were married for 58½ years. Mr. Dimery was an accomplished residential and commercial architect, winning multiple awards for historic preservation. He dearly loved his family and his country. A Boy Scout troop leader, he enjoyed being outdoors and was an adventurer extraordinaire.
