John Carl Bledsoe passed away on October 2, 2016, surrounded by his family. A longtime resident of Ocala, John was born and raised in Covington. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was proud to be a Mechanical Engineer. John served his country as a Naval Aviator and carried his passion for flight throughout his life. He was a successful businessman, passionate golfer, Eagle Scout, devoted friend, loving father, and dedicated member of First United Methodist Church.
Jerry "Red" McDonald of Oxford, 66, passed away October 1, 2016. Jerry owned his own landscaping company, Jerry Mc Donald Landscaping, for more than 45 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and traveled all over the country filling this passion. When not working, Jerry was in the woods! He cherished his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death were his parents, Martin and Ruby (Shaw) McDonald; brother, Reese McDonald; and three infant sisters.
Funeral services for Ms. Annie Grace Saffo of 6239 Green Acres Dr. Covington, will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Oxford. Rev. Charlie Williams, pastor, is the eulogist, assisted by others. Interment is in the Oxford Historical Cemetery.

Reba Mae Gibson, 72, of Gainesville, formerly of Oxford, passed away September 10, 2016. She was born in Union Point to the late Herschel and Mazelle Roberts Young. Gibson worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart for a number of years. She enjoyed sewing but more than anything she loved spending time with her family; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life.
Thomas (Tommy) Jackson Hutchens, 73, of Covington, passed quietly Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born in Newnan on March 28, 1943, to Thomas and Alice Hutchens. For his livelihood, Tommy loved merchandising and selling. He spent most of his life working and managing various grocery store chains from Newnan to Covington and ran his own successful snack distribution company for more than 30 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather who loved supporting his local church, especially in the annual Children's Harvest Fall Festival. Juanita Jones Brookshire, 85, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Riverside Health Care. She was born in Experiment to the late Samuel and Gladys Jones. Juanita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and prayer warrior. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was known for giving out birthday cards to all the church members. Juanita touched many people's lives and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Floyd "Bud" Brookshire in 1992.
