The Reverend John Albert Cannon, Jr., age 85, of Social Circle, died Sunday, January 16, 2011. He was the son of the late John Albert and Ruth Thompson Cannon. John was born in his grandfather's home in Decatur, and was educated in the Decatur city schools. At the age of 17 he joined the U.S. Navy. Pat Stowe of Covington, passed away January 17, 2011, at the age of 68. Mrs. Stowe was a faithful member of Cornish Mountain Baptist Church, where she loved playing the piano and organ; and singing with the Gospel Tone Quartet. She was stock transfer agent for the Trust Company of GA for 30 years. Mrs. Stowe enjoyed her attempts at crocheting and sewing; and loved to shop and travel. Mrs. Bouchillon was born in Porterdale, to the late John William and Odie Bell (Bowen) O'Kelley, and has remained a life-long resident of Newton County. She was well-known, and liked by all who knew her. She was employed by Hutch Clothing, until the store closed, and then C.R. Bard before retiring. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Rupert "Bill" Thomas of Buckhead passed away on January 11, 2011, at the age of 80. Mr. Thomas was born in Covington to the late John Homer and Mamie Lou (Bohannon) Thomas on June 23, 1930. Mr. Thomas was employed with the Federal Drug Enforcement agency for 31 years. He was a member of Philogia Masonic Lodge # 178 in Conyers, and the Georgia Ramblers Motor Home Club.
