Mr. W.A. "Billy" McElreath, age 81, of Covington passed away Sunday, February 08, 2015. He was born March 29, 1933 in Madison County Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. A. L. McElreath who has preceded him in death. Mr. McElreath served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the City of Covington and also owned and operated McElreath Garage in Covington for many years. Barbara Long of Porterdale, passed away February 6, 2015, at the age of 80. Mrs. Long was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing. Mrs. Long was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Mrs. Long will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. Mike Wayt

Mike Wayt, of Mansfield, passed away February 3, 2015, at the age of 51. Mike loved time spent with family. He was a giving man and would help anyone in need; in fact, he was known for his eagerness to intervene whenever there was a crisis. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix or build anything. He was proud to be associated with various charities, including Food for the Poor and Jewish Voice Ministries. He was very energetic, and he was a man of great faith in his later years.

Fred Lamar Covington

Lieutenant Colonel Fred Lamar Covington, 79, passed away on January 31, 2015. Colonel Covington was a 20-year veteran of the United States' Air Force, serving as a Senior Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) and Systems' Management Engineer. During his military career he served in the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1973, where he completed 43 combat missions in the F-105 Wild Weasel, for a total of 128 combat flight hours.

Gladys D. Lipscomb of Porterdale, passed away December 28, 2010, at the age of 88. Mrs. Lipscomb moved to Porterdale in 1963, and worked for Bibb Manufacturing Co., for 19 years. She enjoyed watching her soap opera, "Days of Our Lives"; the game shows, "Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader" and "The Price is Right", and various court TV shows. Most important to her was the love and pride of her family. Mrs. Lipscomb was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lipscomb; daughter, Renea Bell; and her parents, Raymond Earnest and Emma May (Wilson) Dunagan.

He was the son of the late Lewis and Johnnie Criswell Crowe, and enjoyed woodworking, watching wrestling on television, and working on lawnmowers.
