Mrs. Bobbie Bishop, 73, of Mansfield, passed away Feb. 24. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting and keeping a clean house. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for Bishop & Bergbower Inc. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband David Bishop and her parents Lee and Bobbie (Canup) Adams.
William F. Henry, Sr. age 79 of Covington, Georgia. He left his home in Covington and entered into the gates of heaven to be with his Lord & Savior on February 23, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in the Candler and Glenwood area for 50 years. Mr. Henry served his country from 1954 to 1956 in Okinawa, during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Cornelia Jane and William Harry Henry.
Mrs. Emily Anglin, age 80, of Covington passed away February 21, 2013. She was born June 27, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Anglin was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was an amazing cook and especially enjoyed baking "Granny's" seven layer chocolate cake for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Louise Moore and her brother Donald Moore.
Ms. Gwenda Lou Parker, 72, of Woodville, Ala., passed away Feb. 14. Ms. Parker was an avid reader and loved crafting and sewing. She served in the U. S. Navy and was a long-time member of AMVETS. Ms. Parker was a die-hard Auburn football fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Lilly Mae Kirk White.
Mr. Harris T. Shepard, 86, of Mansfield passed away Feb. 19. The son of James and Agnes Shepard, he was born in 1926 in Downing, Wis. Mr. Shepard served his country proudly in the United States Marines Corps during World War II and serving and retiring from the United States Army with a total of 21 years. A devoted family man, he loved being outside working around his farm, being on his tractor and four wheeler, while spending time with his family and friends. He loved life and laughter. Mr. Ronny A. House, age 63, of Porterdale passed away February 9, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1949 in Porterdale, Georgia to James C. and Myrtle Parish House. Mr. House was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. A great sports fan, Ronny enjoyed playing golf and fishing and always enjoyed a cool libation and spending time with his family and friends especially his lifelong friend Ted Maxwell. Mr. Jack F. Daniel of McDonough passed away Feb. 11 at Rockdale Medical Center. The son of Jim and Ethel Watson Daniel, he was born in 1934 in Porterdale. He was retired from Georgia Power as a claim adjuster after many years of service. Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Christine Daniel, and was a loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Billy A. Lindsey, 82, passed away Feb. 11 at his home in Covington. Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his wife Frances C. Lindsey, parents Chester Dean and Mary Pauline (Culberth) Lindsey, brothers Reid Lindsey and Terrell Lindsey and brother-in-law Sonny Coady. Mr. Lindsey was a NASCAR fan and loved gardening and spending time with his grandson. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church for more than 40 years and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Mrs. Evelyn R. Shaver, age 89, passed away February 11, 2013 at The Benton House of Covington. She was born in Knoxville Tennessee to Rufus and Ida Davis on October 18, 1923. Mrs. Shaver was an avid reader, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Shaver, her son, Maurice Shaver and her son-in-law, Eddie Phillips.
Mrs. Clara Kines Sorrow, 94, of Covington, died Feb. 4. The daughter of Rosa Young Kines and Albert Dean Kines, she was born in Walton County in 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband Solomon B. Sorrow and grandchildren Lywanda and Steven.
Mr. Charles Ray Geiger, age 75, of Covington passed away February 8, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. He was born November 25 1937 in Covington to Charles Henderson and Thelma Allen Geiger. Mr. Geiger was a member of North Covington United Methodist Church and was employed with the City of Covington for 43 years serving as one of the first employees of the Building and Zoning Department.
