Mr. Jeremy Shane McCullers of Hilton Head, SC formerly of Covington, died August 25, 2011 at the age of 37.Shane was a Chef who loved cooking, fishing and grilling the catch. A Georgia Tech fan, he loved the fall so he could watch football. He enjoyed time at the beach and spending time with family and friends. Lt. Col. (USAF Ret) Charles "Charlie" Johnston, 96, of Mansfield passed away at Riverside Health Care Center, August 22, 2011. He was a graduate of Tech High in Atlanta. Col. Johnston was a member of the 8th Air Force, serving as a navigator and bombardier in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mrs. VanderPloeg specifically led and taught the ladies she met during her missions. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker; and enjoyed sewing and making draperies. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Robert N. Few of Covington, passed away August 16, 2011, at the age of 75. He was a faithful member and deacon of East Newton Baptist Church. Mr. Few enjoyed wood work, riding his tractor, feeding the birds and squirrels, and taking trips to Helen, GA. Mr. Few was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmer Neal and Irene Mildred (Johnson) Few; and his brother, Thomas Johnson, who died while serving in World War II.
