Thomas Busbee, age 85 of Mansfield, passed away July 22, 2014. Mr. Busbee was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Eastridge Community Church, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Busbee was a wonderful husband and a good father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. Mark Jeffries, age 41 of Covington, passed away July 15, 2014. Mark was a true Believer who loved the Lord Jesus with all of his heart. He was an accomplished bass fisherman and loved to hunt. He had a great sense of humor, and was a talented cook, guitarist and singer. Mark enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews, and he cherished his time with Mary McCullough, the person closest to his heart. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. John Frank Dearing

Mr. John Frank Dearing, 93, passed away Jan. 20. The son of the late "Red" and Eula Mooney Dearing, he was born in 1916 in Porterdale. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Virgil Dearing and sister Nevelyn Gwin. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hoover, Ala. Mr. Dearing started his career in Porterdale Cotton Mill as a young man. He enlisted in Coast Guard in 1937 and returned June 1959 as WO-1. He received medals for American Theatre, European Theatre, Asiatic- Pacific theatre, American defense, Philippines Liberation Bars and Good Conduct Medal.
