She was born February 7, 1930 in Porterdale to Archie and Minnie Ivey McCullough who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Digby worked at home until her children were grown and then she worked for C.R. Bard for two years and Stanley Tool for 14 years. She was Methodist by faith and a member of Gaither's United Methodist Church.
