Doris Hicks Mote, 92, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. She was born in Newton County to the late Alfred Leonidas Hicks and Allie Lee Kinnett Hicks. Doris graduated as Valedictorian from Livingston High School, and graduated from Georgia State College for Women. She taught school in Muscogee, Newton, Houston, and Rockdale counties. Doris was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder, taught Sunday school, was organist and an officer of the Presbyterian Women.

Mrs. Kathryn B. Savage, age 66, of Covington passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. She was born July 1, 1949 in Porterdale to the late Elmer and Evelyn Massey Harper and grew up in Covington. Mrs. Savage started her career at The Bank of Covington in 1985 and retired with BB&T in 2006 where she worked as an IRA Specialist. Rufus Roberts, 83 of Oxford, passed away February 17, 2016. Mr. Roberts was of the Baptist faith. He loved going fishing, vegetable gardening and camping in the mountains. In addition, he enjoyed football and stock car racing. Mr. Roberts never had biological children of his own, but was a father and grandfather to many.
