Clarence H. Moon, 78, of Covington, Georgia, died Sunday, June 22 at his residence. Mr. Moon was born in Pierre, South Dakota, to the late Clarence A. and Margaret Lathrop Moon. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Agueda Moon.

Rev. Garland Stone of Oxford passed away June 18, 2014, at the age of 71. Rev. Stone founded and served Full Gospel Holiness Church for 35 years, where he loved his church family as his own. He enjoyed woodworking, going to auctions and visiting Amish country. Rev. Stone was a kind-hearted man who never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father and papa, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Robert and Frances (Palmer) Stone; and his brothers, Phillip Stone, Kennedy Stone and Larry Stone.

George T. Day, Sr., 76, of Covington, passed away June 17, 2014. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Oxford. Day Tree Service, established in 1969, was the first tree service in Newton County. Mr. Day owned and operated his tree service while working for Lithonia Lighting for 21 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and boating. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family and treasured his time with them. Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Annie Lois (Woodruff) Day.

Frances Rowland of Covington passed away June 9, 2014 at the age of 84. For 38 years, Mrs. Rowland dedicated herself as a school teacher in Newton, Rockdale and Cobb counties, taking short breaks only to raise her six boys. Her teaching career included reading, science, biology and girl's PE. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, in Covington, where she taught Sunday School for several years and was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School class for 54 years. He was the owner of Jeffries Machine Company Inc. in Covington for over 35 years. Mr. Jeffries was a trustee at Faith Tabernacle, Byron, and a dedicated Christian. Charles F. (Chuck) Adamson, of Conyers, died October 17, 2008, at Rockdale Medical Center, at the age of 73. Son of the late William Otis, Sr. and Anna Lois Jones Adamsom, he was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired service technician from Southern Bell. Mr. Adamson was the seventh child, of the seventh child, of the seventh child, and each of his names had seven letters. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post #5290 in Conyers, Christian Motorcyclist Association (Grace Riders), XYZ Senior Group, and AARP of Covington.

Madeleine Black, of Covington, died Oct. 10, at the age of 80. She was a member of East Newton Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved the outdoors and her dog, Susie. Mrs. Black had been a volunteer at Newton Medical Center for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Corrina Efired Morgan and a daughter, Susan Black.

Mrs. Humphrey worked several years as an office assistant for Lithonia Lighting and was a member of New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries, Oxford. She was preceded in death by parents and husband Eugene Humphrey.

Mrs. Bowden moved to Conyers 33 years ago from Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Smyrna Presbyterian Church and the Bible Fellowship. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
