Rev. Garland Stone of Oxford passed away June 18, 2014, at the age of 71. Rev. Stone founded and served Full Gospel Holiness Church for 35 years, where he loved his church family as his own. He enjoyed woodworking, going to auctions and visiting Amish country. Rev. Stone was a kind-hearted man who never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father and papa, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Robert and Frances (Palmer) Stone; and his brothers, Phillip Stone, Kennedy Stone and Larry Stone.

George T. Day, Sr., 76, of Covington, passed away June 17, 2014. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Oxford. Day Tree Service, established in 1969, was the first tree service in Newton County. Mr. Day owned and operated his tree service while working for Lithonia Lighting for 21 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and boating. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family and treasured his time with them.
