Dan Partee, passed away August 18, 2011, at his residence in Covington.He was 80 years old at the time of his death.Mr. Partee was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Jewel (Pannell) Partee.
Catherine L. VanderPloeg of Covington, passed away August 17, 2011, at the age of 100. Mrs. VanderPloeg, along with her late husband, Cornelius, served the Lord as missionaries. Mrs. VanderPloeg specifically led and taught the ladies she met during her missions. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker; and enjoyed sewing and making draperies. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. VanderPloeg was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Cornelius VanderPloeg; daughter, Barbara Pickett; and her parents, Burr DeForrest and Edith (Baker) Vail.
Etta Young Clark of Covington, passed away August 17, 2011, at the age of 92. Mrs. Clark was an active member of both Covington Christian Church and New Covenant Community Church, in Covington. She was employed by Young's Super Foods, in Fort Valley, GA, for several years. She had her own personal card ministry that she sent to her family and friends. Robert N. Few of Covington, passed away August 16, 2011, at the age of 75. He was a faithful member and deacon of East Newton Baptist Church. Mr. Few enjoyed wood work, riding his tractor, feeding the birds and squirrels, and taking trips to Helen, GA. Mr. Few was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmer Neal and Irene Mildred (Johnson) Few; and his brother, Thomas Johnson, who died while serving in World War II.
Wesley Crawford of Covington, passed away August 14, 2011, at Rockdale Medical Center.He was 40 years old at the time of his death.Mr. Crawford was a resident of Rockdale and Newton Counties for 35 years and was a former employee of Penta Engineering where he was a commercial roofing inspector.He enjoyed playing the guitar and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, spending as much time as possible on the road.Mr. Crawford had a very creative mind and enjoyed making metal artwork.

Suedell Harris Adams, 98, of Social Circle, died on July 31. The daughter of the late Jessie Harris and the late Lula Peppers Harris, she was born in 1913 in Elberton. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Dozier Adams and her son-in-law Bruce Tollison. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she played piano until she was 92-years-old.
