Mr. Linton Gotell passed away April 6, 2013. He was born January 21, 1935 in Jasper County, Georgia to the late Ms. Tessie Williams and Mr. Eddie L. Gotell. He was the first born of five siblings; one preceded him in death, Mr. Richard Williams, Jr., one son-in-law, Mr. Charles E. Bridges, Sr.
Mr. Ricky Loyd, age 60, of Covington passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1952 in Porterdale, Georgia. Ricky was a man who enjoyed life, he enjoyed telling a good joke, loved playing golf, fishing, gambling, in fact he had a regular card game daily at 5pm and enjoyed visiting the Covington Pool Room when he could. He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn Hall Loyd, his father Ed Loyd and his sister Linda Loyd Durden.

He also loved his Harley and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Alex Cooper, age 21, of Covington passed away March 29, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 10, 1991 and grew up in Covington. Alex was a 2010 graduate of Alcovy High School and currently attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Holly Nanette Purdy of Covington died Feb. 20 at St. Joseph['s Hospital. Born in Atlanta in 1952, she was the daughter of the late Konrad and Martha Parr Purdy. Miss Purdy was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After graduation she worked for Delta Airlines as a flight attendant and retired after 31 years of service.
