Cornelia Morton Smith, 88, of Oxford, passed away June 6. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking, reading, nature and animals - especially butterflies, and she enjoyed writing letters. Mrs. Smith was a devoted Christian and she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Reaves Jr., son Marvin Chetfield Smith, parents Lowe William and Nealie (Meiere) Smith, sister Emily Jewel Smith Florence and her brothers William Lowe "June" Smith Jr. and Weldon Eugene Smith.
Mr. Thomas J. "Tom" Raynor, age 87, of Newborn formerly of Atlanta passed away June 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1924 in Hillsborough, North Carolina to the late Ed J. and Arlena Scarlett Raynor. Mr. Raynor was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Atlanta. He was an insurance agent selling insurance for many years before retiring and starting his own business, Better Bonding Company located in Atlanta. Mr. Raynor served his country during World War II, serving in the United States Navy.
Mr. John Rile Bentley, III, age 47 of Covington passed away May 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born September 24, 1964 to his father John Rile Bentley, Jr who survives him and his mother Ruth Elkins Bentley who preceded him in death. Mr. Bentley Enjoyed watching NASCAR races and shooting guns he was also an avid reader of Western novels.
Mrs. Shirley Ann Ellis, age 61 of Newborn passed away at her residence on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Mrs. Ellis was born in Lansing, MI to the late Clifford P. Jensen and Donna M. Savage. She was a homemaker, an avid pet lover and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Louise J. Bagienski passed away at her home in Oxford, May 19, 2012. She was 90 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Bagienski was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alex Bagienski, and her parents, Franklin and Lillian Lucille James. She was an avid golfer and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the local hospital. Mrs. Bagienski was also active in Hillcrest Methodist Church in Macon, GA.
Mr. Michael S. Crowe, age 50, of Covington passed away May 18, 2012. He was born May 17, 1962 in Covington to his father the late Bobby Gene Crowe and his mother who survives him Sylvia Morrell Crowe. Mr. Crowe was baptized as a child at Higher Praise Tabernacle, he enjoyed fishing, collecting hats and Hot Wheels, he also enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers and was the first customer at Waffle House #625 where he enjoyed being with his friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Roscoe Daniel Crowe.
Mr. James D. Fondren, III age 54 of Newborn passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in Conyers, GA. He was born August 23, 1957 in O'ahu, Hawaii to the late James. D. Fondren Jr. and his mother Audrey Gardener Fondren who survives him. Mr. Fondren was retired from the United States Postal Service and the owner of Third Base Sports Grill in Conyers. He served his country in the United States Air Force and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Retired Major Joseph "Joe" A. Estep, age 76, of Oxford passed away February 3, 2012. He was born December 11, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert Shore and Ruth Bowman Estep. Mr. John Howard Donald, 53, of Covington, GA passed away peacefully on February 6, 2012after a three year long battle with illness. He was born January 7, 1959 to the late Jack Anthony Donald and his mother who survives him Dee Ann Howard Donald in Decatur, GA.
