Mrs. Melody Lynn Ingle, 60, of Conyers, began her eternal life with her heavenly Father on March 9. She was a teacher and recently retired from the Newton County School System. She was a devout Christian, always following God's will for her life and loved to support her husband in his music ministry. Mrs. Helen C. Ricks of Covington, 87, passed away March 6. She was born in Griffin, to Percy and Rosie (Berry) Christian, was a lifelong resident of the Oak Hill Community and faithful member of Covington Church of God. Mrs. Ricks enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and baking. She was friendly to everyone and never met a stranger. Mrs. Ricks was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, J.W. Ricks; one brother and two sisters; and daughter-in-law Lula Ricks.
Mr. Robert W. (Sonny) Prince Jr., 80, of Monticello, passed away March 1. Mr. Prince was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was employed by General Motors – Lakewood Plant, and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
Mrs. Bobbie Bishop, 73, of Mansfield, passed away Feb. 24. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting and keeping a clean house. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for Bishop & Bergbower Inc. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband David Bishop and her parents Lee and Bobbie (Canup) Adams.
William F. Henry, Sr. age 79 of Covington, Georgia. He left his home in Covington and entered into the gates of heaven to be with his Lord & Savior on February 23, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in the Candler and Glenwood area for 50 years. Mr. Henry served his country from 1954 to 1956 in Okinawa, during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Cornelia Jane and William Harry Henry.
Mrs. Emily Anglin, age 80, of Covington passed away February 21, 2013. She was born June 27, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Anglin was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was an amazing cook and especially enjoyed baking "Granny's" seven layer chocolate cake for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Louise Moore and her brother Donald Moore.
Ms. Gwenda Lou Parker, 72, of Woodville, Ala., passed away Feb. 14. Ms. Parker was an avid reader and loved crafting and sewing. She served in the U. S. Navy and was a long-time member of AMVETS. Ms. Parker was a die-hard Auburn football fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Lilly Mae Kirk White.
Mr. Harris T. Shepard, 86, of Mansfield passed away Feb. 19. The son of James and Agnes Shepard, he was born in 1926 in Downing, Wis. Mr. Shepard served his country proudly in the United States Marines Corps during World War II and serving and retiring from the United States Army with a total of 21 years.
