Hobert T. L. Davenport

Mr. Hobert T. L. Davenport, 90, of Covington, passed away April 3. Mr. Davenport was born in Blue Ridge, the son of John and Lula (Ray) Davenport, and moved to Covington with his family in 1927. He drove a gas truck while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. One of the highlights of his military career was meeting General George Patton. Before going into service, Mr. Davenport met and married Margie Louise Davis, and together they were blessed with two sons, John and Jerry.
