He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting coins and reading. Mr. Fields was a family man, as his family always came first. Mrs. Helen H. Wilson, 80, of Oxford, died Jan. 1. The daughter of the late George and Mabel Stiddam Hughes, she was born in Ashland, Ky., in 1928. A longtime resident of Oxford, Mrs. Wilson was known as "Granny" and loved to ride her John Deere cutting grass and working outside. Mrs. Wilson loved watching the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs and game shows. She retired from Bellsouth after 25 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. An employee with Hercules for 16 years, he was an active member and former deacon of Porterdale Baptist Church.
