He was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church where he was very involved with the barbecue and grounds keeping. Bobby L. Smith Sr., 82, of Covington, passed away Nov. 30.

Mr. Smith worked for White's Department Store for 37 years and Cohen's Department Store for more than 10 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, and highly respected in the community. He was a member of the Voice of Pentecost where he served as a trustee and Sunday school superintendent. He enjoyed camping, gardening, wood-working and singing. James Doucette

Mr. James Arthur Doucette, 78, of Covington, passed away Nov. 25. He graduated from technical school in the field of electrical construction and maintenance. Mr. Doucette joined the U.S. Navy, and proudly served his country as Electrician's Mate Second Class, before being honorably discharged after four years. He was recruited by Trans-World Airlines, for Kennedy Space Center, to supervise air-conditioning crews as well as the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of space oriented environmental control systems. With the phasing-down of the space program, Mr. Doucette returned to private industry as a self-employed, licensed, service contractor.
