George Harold Cown Jr.

George (Stump) Cown, age 70 of Loganville passed away Jan. 30, 2009. Mr. Cown was a longtime member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and was a member of Grayson United Methodist Church. Mr. Cown graduated from Grayson High in 1956, served in the U.S. Navy for two years and retired from AT&T and C.R. Bard Medical in Covington. After retirement, he became known in the Grayson Community as "Santa" to many children.

Mr. James Perry Atkinson, 65, of Madison, died Jan. 12 at his home. The son of the late Herman and Louise Jones Atkinson, he was born in Morgan County in 1943. Mr. Atkinson served in the United States Navy and later worked in sales of construction supplies. Mr. Atkinson was currently employed by Hallman Wood Products in Eatonton.
