He was born on November 27, 1921 in Jackson, GA to Hezekiah Columbus and Mary Edna Holifield Thompson. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving three years and nine months in the Pacific Theater as a Sergeant. Mr. Dewey Cason, of Oxford passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2011. He was born May 31, 1925 in Oxford to the late Charles A. and Sadie Ruth Bostwick Cason. Mr. Cason was a lifelong resident of Oxford and was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church where he served faithful as an elder and member until his death. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Cason retired from Snapping Shoals EMC after 35 years of service.
