Mr. Bobby Green, age 80, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. He was born April 19, 1933 in Covington to Rush and Ethel Herring Green who have preceded him in death. Mr. Green served his country in the United States Army and was of the Methodist faith. He worked for a number of years for Hercules as a supervisor over the shipping department and owned and operated Bob's Carpet Service for many years. Marion Louise Baughn Harwell, 98, of Covington, GA, passed away April 6, 2014 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA. The middle of three sisters born to William Alexander Baughn and Jennie Wilder Steerman Baughn, Marion is survived by her younger sister, Bettemae (Mrs. Taylor S.) Womack, of Auburn, AL. Other survivors include her sons, Nat Harwell (Louise) and Rhee Harwell of Covington; four nieces; three nephews; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nearly two dozen great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a wide circle of friends.

Mr. McRay was a retired U.S. Navy veteran with more than 20 years of service. Arthur E. Norred, Jr., of Oxford, passed away March 27, 2014, at the age of 67. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, but was stationed in Germany. Mr. Norred retired from AT&T after 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church. He was a Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his many friends. He was preceded in death his parents, Arthur E. Norred, Sr. and Lucile Norred.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 29, 1957, to the late Charles Franklin and Gertrude Jean Pier Coker. She grew up in the south and was a graduate of Chamblee High School. Doris S. Renfroe, 84, of Covington, passed away Dec. 16. She enjoyed her job, at Wal-Mart, working as a greeter; and loved to fish, cook, and go to Braves games. She had a very generous heart, was always willing to do without so that others might have what they needed, and had a special love for children. Ms. Renfroe was preceded in death by her daughters Joyce Renfroe and Carolyn Renfroe.
Ralph Marion Hurndon, of Jonesboro, passed away December 11, 2013, at the age of 83. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and working in his yard, and he loved his dog, FiFi. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Simmon and Eva Mae (Fields) Hurndon.
Stacy W. Lynch of Covington, 53, passed away Dec. 10, 2013. Mr. Lynch had a larger than life personality and was always the life of the party. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, and enjoyed deer hunting, listening to music, playing his guitar, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He cherished his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Lynch and his brother, Jody Kevin Lynch.

Roger W. Sheridan, 92, of Newborn, passed away Dec. 3. Mr. Sheridan was the current mayor of Newborn, where he held the record of being the oldest mayor in the country and was a retired Army captain, having served in World War II. He holds two records in "Construction and Engineering" in the Guinness Book of World Records and was a manager for international engineering projects in 32 countries.
Anne F. Laxson, 71, of Huntsville, died Dec. 9 at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Laxson was preceded in death by sons, Tommy Laxson of Huntsville and Gary Laxson of Hinesville; sisters, Myrtice Singley of Covington, Ga., and Nellie Durden of Walnut Grove, Ga.; and brother William Herring of Covington.

Mike Shropshire, 62, of Covington, passed away Dec, 7. He loved riding his Harley and cooking. He coached Little League football for many years and was a true Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs fan. Mr. Shropshire was always laughing and enjoyed playing his drums. He could play "Wipeout" like no other. He also enjoyed his job and was a dedicated worker. He was preceded in death by his parents William Glynn and Helen Louise (Thomason) Shropshire and nephew Jeffrey Patterson.
Willis Lee "Zip" Clark, 73, of Stover, Mo., passed away Nov. 28 at his home. He was born in 1940, in Waverly, Ill., a son of the late Frank and Alta Nance Clark. He married Marilyn Nagles, and to this union one son, Jeff, was born. They divorced, and he married Elaine Carol Craigmiles in 1965. To this union two sons, Scott and Darian, were born. Elaine preceded her husband in death in 2002.
Patricia Ann Knight of Covington died Thursday, December 5, 2013. She was born on July 1, 1947, in Greenville, S.C., to Perry Burns and Martha Finley Carson. She was a member of Central Community Church.
Charles Allen "Charlie" Lemaster, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the age of 31. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed playing softball, watching his son play baseball, riding his four-wheeler, but most of all, he loved spending time with this children.

Mrs. Louise Shropshire, 89, of Covington passed away Dec. 4, at the age of 89. Mrs. Shropshire was considered a good friend by many people. She cherished her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lanny Moody of Covington, 54, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died suddenly Dec. 3. Mr. Moody was born in Covington in 1959. He had many passions in life, one of which was sharing the gospel and bringing people to Christ. Through his outgoing personality and his comedic skills, he demonstrated God's love through fun and laughter and was able to touch so many lives through his ministry, Upside Down Comedy.
