Arthur E. Norred, Jr., of Oxford, passed away March 27, 2014, at the age of 67. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, but was stationed in Germany. Mr. Norred retired from AT&T after 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church. He was a Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his many friends. He was preceded in death his parents, Arthur E. Norred, Sr. and Lucile Norred.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 29, 1957, to the late Charles Franklin and Gertrude Jean Pier Coker. She grew up in the south and was a graduate of Chamblee High School. Elsie Eidson Crawford, 90, of Covington, passed away on January 14, 2014, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. A native of Carrollton, she had called Covington home since 1950. Mrs. Crawford was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Covington. She retired from Grand Union (Colonial Stores) with 37 years of service. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents, Landis Aquillian and Rebecca McCollum Eidson; her beloved husband, Newell Crawford; and her sister, Ruth Eidson Williams.
Dr. Darrel D. King of Covington went home to be with the Lord January 13, 2014, after a brief battle with leukemia. He was born in 1938, in a farmhouse in Campbell, Mo., to Delbert and Melba (Shaffer) King. The son of a sharecropper, he was educated in a one-room schoolhouse. He often credited his teacher, Althea Malin, with inspiring him to think big and pursue his dreams beyond the Cotton Belt Railroad and the boot heel of Missouri.

She was born July 22, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Ebenezer and Margaret Barrie Bauchop. Mrs. Blomberg retired at age 72 from Bank of America. Mr. Elisha "Junior" Hardy, age 79, of Covington passed away at his residence Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was born October 8, 1934 in Jasper Georgia to the late Elisha Frances and Lillie Mae Carter Hardy. Mr. Hardy was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed gardening, animals, especially feeding the fish in the pond behind his house, and enjoyed going to flea markets and thrift stores. He owned and operated Hardy's Citgo in Social Circle for many years. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Kay Hardy and his grandson Andy Harville.

Kas served in the United States Army, he worked as a police officer in Minnesota and worked as a truck driver for Brown Trucking in Lithonia. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Conyers.
