Catherine "Lois" Allison passed away Feb. 19, 2014, at her home in Covington. She was 67 years of age. Mrs. Allison loved her family, sports, and watching game shows. In addition to enjoying music and dancing, she loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr. Mrs. Allison just enjoyed life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Timothy Allison; parents, John Harrison and Katheryn Aurelia (Arrowsmith) Denton; and sister, Leah Rouse.
George "Sonny" Wilson, 73, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Emory University Hospital. Mr. Wilson was born in Cleveland, Miss., to the late Joseph and Nell Wilson.

Brenda Mae Bruce of Covington passed away Feb. 17, 2014, at the age of 67. Grandma Red, as she was affectionately known by so many, was a lively, spirited lady who loved life, adored her family, and especially cherished her time with her grandchildren. She liked spending time outdoors with the animals and traveling to the mountains. Grandma Red loved the holidays, and always enjoyed cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Bruce; parents, Floyd and Lela (Barnwell) Pugh; sister, Lou Norris; and her brothers, Monroe Pugh, Kenneth Pugh and Donald Pugh.

Brandon Gay, of Social Circle, passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at the age of 28. Brandon was a 2004 graduate of Eastside High, and was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan. He loved traveling, especially to Panama City Beach and Hawaii, and enjoyed snorkeling, scuba diving and other water sports. Brandon cherished his family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Ivey Gay; maternal grandfather, William David Ivey; and his paternal grandfather, William Saunders Gay.

Richard Larry "Gran-paw Tater" Tanner, age 64, of White Plains, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Richard was born in Buckhead, Ga., on Dec. 6, 1949. He was the oldest of nine children born to the late Gordon Arlin Tanner and Ina Ellen Burchard Tanner. He was a 1968 graduate of Newton County High School and married Carolyn Ann Mentel on Oct. 24, 1970.
Jack N. Kitchens, of Covington, passed away Feb. 10, 2014, at the age of 77. Mr. Kitchens, a retired U.S. Army veteran, proudly served his country during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Jessie Martin Wade, of Mansfield, passed away Feb. 10, 2014, at the age of 83. Mrs. Wade attended Covington First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. She retired, from C.R. Bard after 24 years of dedicated employment. In addition to her being an avid artist and gardener, she loved animals and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Wade Sr.; daughter, Jane Elizabeth McIntosh; son, John Ellis Wade, Jr.; grandson, Jason Wade; parents, Elbert and Annie (Culberson) Martin; and six of her siblings.

Mr. Kas Kusmider, age 65, of Loganville passed away January 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Germany on January 30, 1948 to the late Boleslaw and Sophie Kusmider. Kas served in the United States Army, he worked as a police officer in Minnesota and worked as a truck driver for Brown Trucking in Lithonia. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Conyers.

He was a hardworking man and had an incredible work ethic when running his business. Mr. Walker enjoyed watching sports and was always willing to help anyone he could. Thomas "Tom" M. Joseph Sr., of Covington, passed peacefully in the arms of his wife, Diana, December 25, 2013, at the age of 66. A people person, he owned and operated DJ Package Store, where he loved talking to and meeting new people. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. Jean (Jinx) Kimbrough O'Neal Faulkner of Covington, GA died December 17, 2013. She was born on August 2, 1927 in Birmingham, AL as the elder child of the late Sara Elizabeth Kimbrough and Lemuel Davis O'Neal. The family returned to their original hometown of Chipley (Pine Mountain), GA in approximately 1930. She graduated from Chipley High School in 1944 and entered the University of Georgia where she was elected President of Delta Delta Delta Sorority in her senior year.
