He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting coins and reading. Mr. Fields was a family man, as his family always came first. Mrs. Elinor Johnson Chandler, 68, of Social Circle, died Dec. 29 at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Newton County, Mrs. Chandler was the daughter of the late Marvin and Sara Shepherd Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Haskell Chandler Sr. A resident of Social Circle, Elinor retired from Newton County after 20 years of service as director of Human Resources.
