Manda worked as a medical receptionist for Rockdale Family Practice for 2 years; and was a member of The Church at Covington. She enjoyed writing poetry and loved music. James William Thompson of Covington, GA died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Social Circle Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on November 27, 1921 in Jackson, GA to Hezekiah Columbus and Mary Edna Holifield Thompson. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving three years and nine months in the Pacific Theater as a Sergeant. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was one of the three oldest living members. His passion was hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Lawrence Anthony LaJaunie, III of Covington, passed away July 12, 2011, at Rockdale Medical Center. He was 46 years old at the time of his death. Mr. LaJaunie enjoyed fishing, talking, and was a LSU and Saints fan. He owned Lawrence's Barber Shop for 12 years. Mr. LaJaunie was an active member of Harvest Baptist Church, where he served on the fellowship team, security team, and was a volunteer for the Hope for Harvest Food Ministry. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Anthony LaJaunie, Jr., and brother, Troy Anthony LaJaunie.
