Charles H “C.H.” Berry Jr.

Charles H. "C.H." Berry, Jr. of Covington, age 92, passed away November 26, 2016, at his home in Almon surrounded by his family. Mr. Berry served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a carpenter and farmer all his life, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family. Mr. Berry was the proud owner of Berry's Christmas Tree Farm in Covington, and served as County Commissioner for Newton County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Mattie Lou (Owens) Berry, Sr.

Elizabeth Florine "Sister" Womack, age 74, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. She was born in Covington to the late Tommy Lee and Florine Fuller Womack on June 25, 1942. Affectionately known as "Sister" she never met a stranger, loved everyone and was always happy. Ms. Womack is survived by her brothers: Tommy Ray Womack of Oxford, Jimmy D. Womack of Loganville, her twin sister Faustine Payne, and sisters: Nancy Smith and Mary Yates all of Oxford along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
