Mildred "Mrs. Millie" Maloy, a lifelong resident of Porterdale, passed away September 27, 2014, at the age of 95. She was a member of Porterdale Baptist Church and the Porterdale Woman's Club. She lived next door to the school and could run home at recess time to get fresh baked sweet potatoes, one for the teacher and one for herself. This was a happy time for her.
