The Amitié Club of Oxford was organized in 1951 and is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The charter states, "The object of this organization shall be to strengthen the civic, social, moral and spiritual life of the community, to promote projects and to meet the needs of the community, to unite the citizens of the community in a mutual trust and faith and to keep its members appraised of the day."
