The Covington News and Newton Conservative Liberty Alliance, a local conservative group, are hosting the final of their three primary forums, this one for the crowded state school superintendent seat, at 7 p.m., tonight at Peachtree Academy's Covington campus, 14101 U.S. Highway 278.

As of press time Tuesday night Barack Obama won in Newton County with 21,844 votes, while Mitt Romney had 20,979.
Newton County voters have spoken, and Tommy Davis has been elected as coroner once again. Republican Davis had 21,675 votes to Democrat Robert L. Bradley's 19,589.
"I look forward to serving four more years for the citizens of Newton County," Davis said at the Board of Elections. "It is an honor to serve as their county coroner. The trust and confidence they put in me will increase my dedication and commitment to them and the job I do."
Mitt Romney has captured West Virginia and its five electoral votes.
NBC, CNN and Fox News now all report that they project Barack Obama to be re-elected president.
