Little Miss Covington

The inaugural 2010 Miss Covington and Little Miss Covington Pageant was held Saturday morning at Eastside High School. Participants were judged on a 1 -10 scale, with 10 being the highest. Judges will make their decisions based on overall appearance, first impression, beauty, poise and personality. The winner (Queen/King) in each division received a rhinestone tiara/crown, monogrammed sash, flowers and a large trophy. The winners were:

Zon sworn in as District Attorney

In Newton County the trend of doing more with less has not limited itself to city hall and the detention center. The county fire department is also operating with less, but cutting the department's budget doesn't mean the amount of calls they answer have gone down with it.
