The Rock of Salvation Ministries is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The program will run five days a week from June 7 to July 30 at Rock of Salvation Church located at 2 Riverfront Road, Porterdale. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.

Man charged in bomb hoax pleads guilty

Willard Anthony Montgomery, 52, the man who was charged with robbing a bank inside of the Covington Wal-Mart and threatening the staff with "explosives" pleaded guilty to armed robbery and hoax devices last week.

Spinning a yarn: Knitting instructor Gabrielle Green teaches Ryann Jones, 8, how to make beginning stitches. The Kids Knitting Club will meet every Tuesday at the library. Beginning knitters will learn more basic skills and experienced knitters are welcome to come work on fun projects at 2:30 p.m. in the story Room of the Covington Branch Library. This class is designed for children eight and up. Parents will be waiting on pins and needles to see what their children create!
