Conyers St train tracks to be removed

The Council also unanimously approved the closing of a section of Conyers Street, while city crews remove existing train tracks and resurface the road. Fire consumes home

Up in flames: A fire broke out Monday at a home on Costly Mill Road. The house and a camper nearby were destroyed in the blaze. According to witnesses, the structure was fully ablaze when firemen arrived. Firefighters had multiple trucks on the scene to fight the blaze.

Straight shootin’

The inaugural Eagles Droppin' Arrows 3-D Archery Fun Shoot, hosted by the Eastside High School FFA, was held Saturday morning at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division Saturday morning. Archers fired at 3-D targets of mountain goats and deer, and some rogue shots ended up in trees. The event raised funds for the Eastside High School FFA to use to travel to the Indianapolis FFA convention in October.
