AFLAC duck finds new voice

NEW YORK - Aflac is betting a sales manager from Minnesota has the voice to drive the name "Aflac" into the recesses of your brain and keep it there.

Daniel McKeague, 36, a father of three from Hugo, Minn., beat out 12,500 other contestants to replace actor Gilbert Gottfried and become the new voice of the reinsurance company's duck mascot.

Atlanta jobless rate drops

ATLANTA - Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says the preliminary unadjusted unemployment rate in the metro Atlanta area declined to 9.8 percent in March.

He said that's down from a revised 10.2 percent in February.

Gas costs up, who has cheapest fuel?

Average retail gasoline prices in metro Atlanta have risen 2.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.74/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.83/g, according to gasoline price website AtlantaGasPrices.com.

ATLANTA - Authorities say they've arrested two men and a 16-year-old who face charges in connection with attacks on passengers aboard a commuter train headed for Atlanta's airport.

MARTA police said Monday that 19-year-old Jarquez Scott and 20-year-old Zantavious Sanchez Scott are being held in the Fulton County Jail.

Worshippers discovered the vandalism when they arrived for Easter Sunday mass at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church to find the 9-foot statue defaced with bright pink paint.
