Crowell Road opened at 3 p.m. today to the delight of many home and business owners in the area. The road was closed, between I-20 and Brown Bridge Road, on Sept. 23, because of the flooding that hit several parts of Newton County. The bridge on Crowell Road that was damaged will still need future repairs, but it will remain open temporarily until those repairs are financed.

The first shipment of H1N1 Injectable vaccine has arrived at the East Metro Health District serving Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Counties. 15,200 doses of vaccine arrived at the district office late Friday.
