Deputies pull over vehicle, find stolen gun
Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office initially noticed a vehicle traveling erratically and ended up arresting the occupants on various charges, including theft by receiving stolen property for reportedly having a stolen weapon in the vehicle.

Crowell Road open
Crowell Road opened at 3 p.m. today to the delight of many home and business owners in the area. The road was closed, between I-20 and Brown Bridge Road, on Sept. 23, because of the flooding that hit several parts of Newton County. The bridge on Crowell Road that was damaged will still need future repairs, but it will remain open temporarily until those repairs are financed.

AT&T donates $350,000 to fund renovations to Bert Adams Boy Scout Reservation
AT&T made a generous donation to the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America to help fund the massive renovations to the Bert Adams Scout Reservation in Covington.
