Georgia State Patrol are cautioning drivers to plan for a sober designated driver if alcohol consumption will be part of their holiday celebrations this year. Troopers will be keeping a close eye out for impaired drivers now through the end of the year.
The judges of the Superior Courts of the Alcovy Judicial Circuit (Newton County and Walton County) were sworn in for their new four-year terms on Dec. 21, by Hon. William M. Ray, II, of the Court of Appeals of Georgia, in a ceremony held at the Walton County Government Building in Monroe.

Hubert L. Townley began his military career in March 1955 and retired from the U.S. Army more than 20 years later in November 1979. In January 2013, Townley will travel to Vietnam on a Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsored tour, "Return to Vietnam," which will last for two weeks during Jan. 3 through 17.
