Social Circle home moving to new location

It took about five years to get funds and to complete the process to move the 186-year-old home, said Mike Owens, owner of Magnolia Manor, the new location of the home. The Historic Preservation Society of Social Circle (HPSSC) had pledged $10,000 for anyone who promised to move and restore the home, which was a significant chunk of the fundraising efforts needed to make the move official. East Metro receives H1N1 injectable vaccine

The first shipment of H1N1 Injectable vaccine has arrived at the East Metro Health District serving Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale Counties. 15,200 doses of vaccine arrived at the district office late Friday. The vaccine is being disseminated within the five health department clinics, first responders, major clinics, and some doctor's offices.

Health Department clinics in Covington will begin providing the H1N1 injectable vaccine today, Nov. 2.

Boy Scout nature center dedicated to a distinguished local volunteer

Distinguished Eagle Scout John S. "Jack" Langford, a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of Georgia, was honored Saturday during a dedication for the newly built nature center at Bert Adams Scout Reservation in Covington.
