Newton High student reports rape

Authorities at the Newton County Sheriff's Office are investigating an alleged rape that occurred on school grounds March 17. According to NCSO 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, they were notified by the parents of the girl, who is "early high school age" on March 31, when the parents of the girl reported the sexual assault to school resource officers.
