The Newton County Board of Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Mansfield to be solely responsible for the general maintenance of the center and created a committee for the Mansfield Community Center at its Dec. 18 meeting.
A 16-year-old Conyers boy has been arrested on felony counts of identity theft, terrorist threats and giving false statements to law enforcement after he hacked into a 10-year-old Covington girl's online Xbox LIVE account and then threatened her after she questioned him about the purchases he made on her account.
Hubert L. Townley began his military career in March 1955 and retired from the U.S. Army more than 20 years later in November 1979. In January 2013, Townley will travel to Vietnam on a Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsored tour, "Return to Vietnam," which will last for two weeks during Jan. 3 through 17.

Girl Scout Troop 1062 reunited 50 years after receiving their curved bar badges for a fun lunch celebration. The gathering was also in honor of their Scout leader Ruth Moseley's birthday as well as the 100th year of Girl Scouts.
