Mainstream Dance visits Porterdale Elementary

Keep the beat: Dancers from Mainstream Dance visited Porterdale Elementary Thursday afternoon. The dances demonstrated for the students included samples from The Nutcracker Ballet, a solo and a jazz routine. Students also got a chance to learn a few ballet terms and positions. Braving the cold: Sarai Baker enjoyed a steaming cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows in the festive Covington News store on the square Thursday evening. The Hometown Holiday Celebration, a Mainstreet Covington event to promote holiday shopping and festivities on the square, happens every Thursday evening and includes caroling, horse and carriage rides and extended shopping hours.
