Letting out their inner star

For lovers of "Glee" and others who dream of their name in lights, the Musical Theater Camp is beginning this summer for grades 4th-12th.

The camp will run from July 9-20, at Newton High School in the Porter Auditorium. Participants will receive training in three areas: voice, acting and dancing.

County approves $44.89 million budget

The Newton County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a $44.89 million budget for the 2012-2013 year Tuesday and voted to keep the millage rate at its current 10.91 rate, but did not promise to devote any additional revenue to economic development.

Gas prices fall 3.5 cents in past week

Average retail gasoline prices in Atlanta have fallen 3.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.29/gal yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.53/gal, according to gasoline price website AtlantaGasPrices.com.
