NCSS Spelling Bee returns

The 2015 System Spelling Bee has returned, and The Newton County School System will host the annual event. Each of the system's elementary and middle schools will compete this year at Newton High School on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. Students in grades four through eight are eligible to participate, with each school sending their own spelling bee champion and runner up to compete in the tournament.

Revised Trade Adjustment Assistance for Farmers Program announced

Hobby Stripling, State Executive Director of USDA's Farm Service Agency in Georgia announced that USDA has a revised Trade Adjustment Assistance for Farmers (TAAF) Program. Alcovy FFA earns second place at Northeast Georgia FFA

The Newton County School System is pleased to announce that Alcovy High School's FFA Team won second place honors in the senior division at the recent Northeast Georgia FFA Floriculture Development Event and will now advance to the state competition on March 20th, 2010, at the State FFA Center in Covington. The team is coached by Ben Brand. Team members included Ethan Kitchens, Luke Bagley and Kileen Ford.
