Holt: Heading down the stretch

The House of Representatives honored the members of all branches of the Georgia National Guard last Wednesday. We wanted to make it clear how much their service is appreciated, especially in the challenges and sacrifices of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those who fell in these conflicts were specifically remembered and honored, along with their families. Cookies for the troops

On Feb. 21, Virginia Pearson, co-founder of Operation Sandbox, donated over 800 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq along with those serving on the home front as well. The Girl Scout cookies were donated by Charlotte McGuley who is currently working on her gold star award through the Girl Scout program.
