Eagle set to soar

Parker Green's Boy Scout career culminated in May of this year with the completion of his Eagle Project. For his project, Parker chose to team up with the Georgia Wildlife Federation to rebuild the pergola that serves as a natural entranceway into Georgia Wildlife Federation's facility on Hazelbrand Road.

He plans to remain active in the Boy Scouts until he completes high school and heads off to college. At some point in the future, he says he would like to return to Boys Scouts as an adult leader.

Blessed doggy: On Saturday, Oct. 23, Dr. Doug Gilreath, Senior Pastor of Covington First United Methodist Church held the first Blessing of the Animals for the Community on the downtown square in Covington. The service followed the Annual Mutt Show sponsored by the Humane Society. Members of the community were invited to bring the dogs, cats, fish, turtles, rabbits, any of their beloved pets to be blessed.
