NCSO Explorers participate in Winterfest

The Newton County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 2010 participated in the 2013 Winterfest located in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Over 3,600 participants gathered from 13 states to experience what Venturing and Exploring is all about. Highway named for Lamar Hays

The dedication ceremony for the Lamar B. Hays Memorial Parkway took place Thursday, July 16 at 4:40 p.m. in the Mansfield Community Center. Capes, who is a longtime member of local Elks Lodge No. 1806, was elected at the recent state convention held at Jekyll Island on June 4-7.
