KCNB encouraging all groups to Adopt-a-Mile

Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful, has been working in our community for 30 years to provide environmental education through litter prevention, beautification, community programs, solid waste and recycling, and water pollution prevention efforts. As part of its 30th anniversary, KCNB is working to revitalize the "Adopt-a-Mile" program.

More than 700 volunteers in Newton County participated in Great American Cleanup efforts in March, April and May. They gave more than 1,800 hours of their time to clean up litter along local roadways.

Man charged in bomb hoax pleads guilty

Willard Anthony Montgomery, 52, the man who was charged with robbing a bank inside of the Covington Wal-Mart and threatening the staff with "explosives" pleaded guilty to armed robbery and hoax devices last week.
