NCSS Spelling Bee returns

The 2015 System Spelling Bee has returned, and The Newton County School System will host the annual event. The faces of Chimney Park

There are two new reasons to visit Chimney Park located behind the Newton County Library, 7116 Floyd Street, in Covington. Chainsaw artist Ben Eidson of Shady Dale turned his chainsaw loose on the massive trunk of an oak that fell during the spring storms and created an interesting bench with three seating areas, perfect for a peaceful afternoon's rest. Then he turned his attention to creating a mystical face of a wood nymph in the trunk of a dead tree near the storytelling area.
